Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival Screenwriting Competition (LACFFSC) is the brainchild of LACFF’s development and community focused mission. Screenplay is the first step of any narrative content. We want to lean into our strength rooted in an extensive industry network to discover the Chinese voices of a generation and connect them with resources such as development executives, financing entities, production companies and talent managers. In our inaugural competition, we seek screenplays for feature, feature short, and TV pilot in both Chinese and English. Each winner can win a cash prize up to $2,500 USD. We have also assembled an esteemed panel of juries for live feedback during pitch sessions at our summit event. As the closing event of our Annual Summit, winners of the screenwriting competition will be announced during the award ceremony. In addition, we  are also proud to present a slate of exciting programs over three days – writer’s workshops (Chinese/English), industry panels, film screenings, fun networking activities and games. all these festivities will be interactive through the metaverse event space, GatherTown.
